Café Troia was established in 1984 by brothers Ernesto and Gino Troia and Gino's wife Carol, with the help of the family matriarch Elena Troia. The Troia family, natives of Naples, Italy, have generations-old traditions in good cooking and eating in Italy that they brought with them when they immigrated to the US and made Baltimore their adopted hometown. They owned a restaurant in Calabria, Italy and then a restaurant and a delicatessen in Baltimore before opening Café Troia in Towson. All Troia family members have been and are involved in cooking and managing Café Troia.

With meticulous attention to high quality ingredients, traditional and innovative Italian cooking and unsurpassed service, Café Troia has become practically a landmark in Towson. Café Troia received an "Excellent" rating by the Zagat Washington-Baltimore Guide in 2006 and has been the recipient of that rating for several years in a row. It was selected by Baltimore Magazine as one of Baltimore's Top 50 restaurants in 2006. Café Troia has also received great reviews and has been featured in the Food Network.

Fine cuisine is just one dimension of Café Troia. The Troia family have also dedicated themselves to exploring and sharing the rich culture of Italy. Through their famous Giro D' Italia dinners, cooking classes, and Chef Gino Troia's Gino's Italy Tours they have shared for many years the richness of the simple pleasures of Italian life with their adopted hometown.

From the very beginning our family has made high quality ingredients the foundation of our offerings at Café Troia. We seek daily the best and freshest local, national and international seasonal ingredients that are essential to great tasting dishes. We use hormone free poultry, including our eggs. The fish that we serve daily is wild, not farm raised.

We constantly strive to make your dining experience at Café Troia exemplary. We invite you to enjoy an outstanding dining experience in traditional and innovative Italian cuisine.
